Total to Sell Stake in Sanofi-Aventis

Total CEO Christophe de Margerie said at the company’s recent shareholders meeting that Total plans to sell its 13% stake in Sanofi-Aventis, which at current share values is worth about €12 billion ($16.2 billion). “Sanofi is not our core business,” de Margerie says. “We will clearly soon sell this stake in conditions that are yet to be determined.
