Topsoe Begins Construction of Biofuel Plant in Sweden

Haldor Topsoe says that construction has begun for a previously announced plant that will produce the fuel dimethyl ether (DME) from black liquor – a by-product of paper production which is normally burnt- at Pitea, Sweden. Topsoe and Chemrec (Stockholm), a company that specializes in converting paper mills into biorefineries, will jointly design and build the new plant.
