Tate & Lyle Divests Starch

Syral (Marckolsheim, France), a subsidiary of Tereos (Lille, France), has agreed to acquire Tate & Lyle’s (London) European starch business for €310 million ($423 million). The deal is expected to close by September 30. The acquired business has production in Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, and the U.K., and generates sales of €520 million/year.
