Sun Pharma Seeks to Make Acquisitions Overseas

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (Mumbai) says it is trying to raise about $860 million for overseas acquisitions. The company is looking to acquire generic and/or branded generic pharmaceutical companies in the U.S. or other countries. Sun Pharma says that no specific companies have been identified so far, and that it has also not decided how it will raise the funding. Sun Pharma signed an agreement last May to acquire generics manufacturer Taro Pharmaceutical Industries (Haifa, Israel) for $454 million in cash. Sun Pharma says its current focus is on completing...
