Ecolab matched estimates on strong sales from the former Nalco. Rockwood’s earnings declined, mostly on weakness in titanium dioxide (TiO2) (below). Chemtura fell short of estimates, although earnings rose from the year-ago quarter, because of weak market conditions in its industrial segment.
