Sika to Buy Concrete Admixture Firm in Canada

Sika (Baar, Switzerland) says it will acquire MRT Construction Products (Edmonton), a supplier of concrete admixtures to the Canadian market. The purchase price was not disclosed. MRT reported sales of SF3 million ($2.4 million) last year. MRT’s product line includes bottom ash, C-rock, fly ash, and multi-use ash. The deal expands Sika’s geographic coverage of the concrete admixture market in North America, the company says. The deal is Sika’s latest in a string of acquisitions.
