Sika reports 18% growth in first-half 2014 sales, net profit leaps 25.7%

Sika (Baar, Switzerland) says its sales for first-half 2014 increased to 2.66 billion Swiss francs ($2.94 billion), an increase of 18% in local currency, or 10.6% in Swiss francs. Operating profit before depreciation (Ebitda) was SF347.7 million for the first six months of 2014, compared with SF293.4 million for the year-ago period, or 18.5%. Net profit climbed 25.7%, the company says. Earnings per share in first-half 2014 were SF69.4, compared with SF55 for the corresponding period in 2013, or 26%.
