People & Business :: Companies Sigma-Aldrich Earnings Rise on Increased Sales10:40 AM MDT | April 22, 2010 | Vincent Valk Sigma-Aldrich today reported a rise in both income and sales for the first-quarter, to $100 million and $572 million, respectively. Earnings rose 19.1% year-on-year, to 81 cts/share, the highest figure in the company's history. Sales were up 10.2% from the first-quarter last year. The company raised its full-year earnings guidance by 5 cts/share, to $3.05-$3.20/share, citing continued improvement in market conditions. Sales are forecast to rise in the mid-single digit range.
