People & Business :: Companies Sibur Discusses JVs with Overseas Firms; Advances Fertilizers Sale...5:06 AM MDT | August 7, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Sibur (Moscow), Russia’s biggest petrochemical producer, is in negotiations with “a number of” overseas firms on possible joint ventures to produce olefins and derivatives in Russia, says Sibur president Dmitry Konov. Speaking at a press briefing in London last week, Konov said that the various discussions are at “different stages.” Sibur and its parent, Gazprom, have in the past been linked with BASF, Dow Chemical, Reliance Industries, and Sabic as possible jv partners.
