Sensient Earnings Improve

Sensient Technologies reported fourth-quarter earnings of $15.3 million, compared to earnings of $1.3 million in the year-ago period. Sales increased 7.9%, to $272.7 million. Sensient’s flavors and fragrances division posted operating income up 42.8%, to $27 million, on sales up 9.4%, to $185 million. Revenues in the flavors and fragrances group benefited from higher volumes and improved pricing, particularly in the U.S., Sensient says.
