S&P Raises Dow Credit Outlook

Standard & Poor's (S&P; New York), the credit ratings agency, has raised its credit outlook for Dow Chemical to 'positive' from 'stable.' While Dow's 'BBB-' rating is unchanged, the 'positive' outlook increases the odds of an upgrade. Improved second-quarter earnings based on stronger volumes, as well as declining debt and higher cash flow, led to the change in outlook, S&P says.
