Report: Braskem still planning $3.5-billion petrochemical complex in Peru

Braskem (Sao Paolo) is still planning to build a previously reported $3.5-billion petrochemical complex in Peru, in alliance with the country's state-run energy company PetroPeru (Lima), according to a report from Reuters. Braskem and PetroPeru signed a letter of intent for the project in late 2011. The location of the project remains to be decided, the report adds. A 1,000-kilometer gas pipeline that the Peruvian government wants to build would feed the petrochemical complex, as reported by CW. Braskem's plans are, however, dependent on guaranteed gas supplies...
