Rentech shuts R&D unit

Synthetic fuel and fertilizer company Rentech (Los Angeles) says it will shutter its Commerce City, CO, product demonstration unit and eliminate related R&D activities. Rentech says approximately 65 employees will be affected. The company says it will focus on growth opportunities within the energy industry that do not rely on new technologies.
