People & Business :: Companies RPM Buys U.K. Specialty Coatings Maker11:11 AM MDT | July 25, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff RPM’s Rust-Oleum (Vernon Hills, IL) business has acquired Tor Coatings (Birtley, U.K.), a maker and marketer of specialty coatings. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Tor has sales of about $45 million/year, and supplies the consumer paint market. The deal will strengthen Rust-Oleum’s coatings presence in the consumer market in the U.K., and will broaden its distribution of industrial and commercial coatings, says RPM president and CEO Frank Sullivan.
