Praxair starts up ASU in the Mideast

Praxair’s Mideastern subsidiary has announced the start-up of its first air separation plant (ASU) in the Kingdom of Bahrain—a small island country near the western shores of the Persian Gulf. The ASU will supply oxygen, nitrogen, and argon to United Steel Company (SULB), as a part of its expansion efforts, and has the capacity to produce 350 m.t./day of oxygen. Praxair’s ASU will also produce liquid nitrogen, oxygen, and argon to supply customers in the regional merchant market—including hospitals, metal fabricators, aluminum...
