Petrobras and Vale to Study Joint Potash, Fertilizer Projects

State-controlled energy company Petrobras (Rio de Janeiro) and mining company Vale (Rio de Janeiro) have agreed to study the joint development of projects in a range of sectors. They include potash, nitrogen fertilizers, and biodiesel. The accord was signed by Petrobras CEO Maria das Gracas Silva Foster and Vale CEO Murilo Ferreira. The companies plan to study the viability of projects "of common interest," as well as legal and structural aspects of these potential projects.
