People & Business :: Companies Performance polymers drag Lanxess's sales down10:30 AM MST | November 6, 2012 | Sotirios Frantzanas Lanxess says its sales decreased 7.6% in the third quarter of 2012, to €2.16 billion ($2.77 billion), compared with €2.34 billion in the corresponding period of 2011. "Business development in the performance polymers segment was largely responsible for the overall drop in sales," Lanxess says. Sales volumes declined 6.4% in the third quarter, and selling prices decreased 7.1% adjusting to lower raw material costs, the company says.
