People & Business :: Companies Nippon Shokubai to Expand Superabsorbent Polymers Plant in China10:11 AM MST | January 31, 2012 | Sotirios Frantzanas Nippon Shokubai says it has approved Nisshoku Chemical Industry's (NCI; Zhangjiagang, China) investment plan for the expansion of NCI's superabsorbent polymers plant at Zhangjiagang. A new superabsorbent polymers plant with a production capacity of 30,000 m.t./year will be built as a part of the investment plan, Nippon Shokubai says. The capacity of the existing plant is 30,000 m.t./year. Mechanical completion of the new plant is expected in March 2014, and commercial operation will begin in July 2014, the company says.
