People & Business :: Companies NACD Report: U.S. Distributor Profitability Down in 200911:31 AM MDT | October 17, 2010 | Vincent Valk While U.S. chemical distributors remained profitable in 2009, growth slowed and profits were lower than in 2008, according to a new report released by the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD; Arlington, Va.). Sales fell 19% for packaged products distributors, 14.3% for liquid products distributors, and 10.8% for diversified distributors, during 2009. The report, entitled the NACD Company Productivity Report (CPR), measured profits by pre-tax return on investment.
