People & Business :: Companies Molycorp Awards Chlor-Alkali Construction Contract2:50 PM MDT | July 25, 2011 | Vincent Valk Molycorp has awarded an engineering, procurement and construction contract to KBR for its planned chlor-alkali plant at the company's Mountain Pass, CA rare earths processing facility. The chlor-alkali plant is part of a $781 million expansion of the Mountain Pass rare earth oxides (REO) processing facility. The REO facility will have a capacity of 19,050 m.t./year by the end of 2012, though the capacity of the chlor-alkali plant has not been disclosed.
