Mitsubishi Details Chinese Polycarbonate Plans

Mitsubishi Gas Chemical (MGC; Tokyo) says it has teamed up with Mitsubishi Engineering Plastics Corp. in a previously announced project to build a polycarbonate (PC) manufacturing complex at the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park at Caojing. The partners intend to establish a subsidiary, LingYou Engineering-Plastics (Shanghai) in July to operate the planned PC complex, including a pelletizing facility, a compounding plant and a technical center, which is expected to start production in April 2012.
