People & Business :: Companies Merck KGaA to Acquire Millipore for $7.2 Billion7:05 AM MST | March 1, 2010 | Deepti Ramesh Merck KGaA and life sciences company Millipore (Billerica, MA) say they have entered into a definitive agreement, under which Merck KGaA will acquire all outstanding shares of Millipore for $107/share in cash, or a total transaction value including net debt of about €5.3 billion ($7.2 billion). The transaction has been approved by the boards of both companies. Merck KGaA expects the acquisition to be completed in the second half of 2010.
