McVicar regains access to Hongbo facility after worker occupation

McVicar Industries (Toronto) reports today that it has been granted access to the production facilities of its Zhejiang Hongbo Chemical subsidiary through the involvement of local government. Factory managers and staff had been occupying the facility since the company’s 2 August decision to temporarily suspend production. The company decided to suspend production at the site because of changes in environmental and safety regulations enforced by local government on chemical manufacturers in non-chemical industrial parks.
