Kemria’s Water Treatment Unit Drives Third-Quarter Results

Kemira reported third-quarter net income up 15%, to €52.9 million ($76.2 million), on sales up 12%, to €729.5 million. Operating profit excluding nonrecurring items rose 12%, to €65.8 million. Operating profit before special items rose in the pulp and paper business, but sales fell because of downtime in the pulp mills in Finland and raw material delivery problems, Kemira says.
