Kemira and Rockwood Form TiO2 Joint Venture

Kemira and Rockwood Holdings say they have agreed to put their respective titanium dioxide (TiO2) businesses and the functional additives business owned by Rockwood into a joint venture in which Rockwood will have a 61% share and Kemira 39%. The new joint venture will include Rockwood's production facilities in Duisburg, Germany, and Kemira's Pori, Finland TiO2 plant as well as Kemira's technical research center specializing in TiO2 products in Oberhausen, Germany, and its U.S. subsidiary, Kemira Specialty Inc.
