Kemira Reports Higher Net Profits but Lower Sales

Kemira says net profit from continuing operations in the fourth quarter of 2011 was €37.8 million ($50 million), 51% higher than the €25.1 million reported in the same quarter of 2010. Earnings per share (EPS) also increased 60% year over year, to €0.24. Kemira's sales decreased slightly from €546.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2010 to €543.3 million in the fourth quarter of 2011 and operative Ebit, operating profit excluded non-recurring items, decreased 15%, to €34.3 million.
