Kemira Decides to Keep TiO2 Business

Kemira says it has decided to retain its pigments business, including titanium dioxide (TiO2), after evaluating certain options for the business, which included a possible sale (CW, June 6, p. 5). “The preliminary outcome of our evaluation process showed that the market value for the pigments business unit in the current business and financial environment does not correspond to the real value of the business,” says deputy CEO Esa Tirkkonen.
