Incitec Pivot Suspends Plans for Ammonium Nitrate Complex in Australia

Incitec Pivot (Melbourne) has announced, through the Australian Stock Exchange, that it has suspended a feasibility study for the development of an ammonium nitrate (AN) manufacturing complex at the company's Kooragang Island site at Newcastle, Australia. The company's final decision on the project has been deferred for at least two years, Incitec Pivot says. The suspension reflects an anticipated reduction in demand for AN and the high costs of construction in Australia, the company says.
