Huntsman's Profits Rise on Higher Volumes and Selling Prices

Huntsman’s second-quarter earnings swung to a profit because of higher volumes and selling prices, as well as cost-cutting measures. Sales and volumes rose across all businesses. Net income was $75 million, compared to a $66-million loss excluding special items. Earnings were $114 million compared to $406 million in the year ago period inclusing special items.
