Galactic Announces Involvement in Polylactic Acid Production Project

Galactic (Brussels, Belgium), a producer of lactates and lactic acid, announced their involvement in the “Eclipse” project launched by the European community as a part of the seventh framework programme. The project will use microalgae waste from the biodiesel process as a raw material for producing lactic acid by fermentation, which will then be used to produce polylactic acid (PLA).
