People & Business :: Companies GE Plastics Close to Sale; Launches New Resin11:57 AM MDT | July 27, 2007 | Peck Hwee Sim GE Plastics says it expects to announce a buyer this quarter, and close the sale later this year, but it did not give further details. General Electric (GE) put its plastics unit up for sale earlier this year (CW, Jan. 24, p. 6). Meanwhile, GE Plastics has launched a new grade for its Xenoy brand polybutylene terephthalate and polycarbonate blend engineering resin in response to new regulations on fuel evaporation emissions from small engine off-road fuel tanks.
