Evonik JV starts up PMMA extrusion plant in South Africa

Evonik Industries says that Evonik Acrylics Africa, its joint venture with Ampaglas Plastics Group (Elandsfontein, South Africa), is to start producing extruded sheets of plexiglas polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). The plant, located at Johannesburg, has capacity for several thousand m.t./year of semifinished material and employs 20 people.
