Ecolab acquires chemicals segment of AKJ Industries

Ecolab has acquired the chemicals segment – including water treatment, car top dust control, and freeze conditioning chemicals – of AKJ Industries (Fort Myers, FL). AKJ, which was founded in 1981, also operates in the refinery processing and steel processing markets. Purchase price was not disclosed, although AKJ’s chemicals division had about $23 million in revenues in 2013, the company says. Generational Equity (Dallas) advised AKJ on the deal.
