Dow: Next Leveraged Buyout Target?

A U.K. media report saying that Dow Chemical could be the target of a $54-billion leveraged buyout (LBO) in the next few weeks by a consortium of private equity firms fueled a rally in Dow Chemical shares earlier this week. The report names private equity firms The Blackstone Group (New York), Carlyle Group (Washington), and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR; New York) as part of the consortium.
