Dow Idles Latex Production

Dow Chemical says it will idle latex production at its facilities in Pittsburg, CA and Varennes, Quebec by the end of the year. Dow says it will supply latex from its other North American manufacturing locations to meet customer demand. The company does not anticipate any disruption in supply. "The idling of our latex facilities in Pittsburg and Varennes was a difficult decision, but due to the reduction in industry demand and extreme energy and production costs, the decision was necessary," says Philippe Raynaud de Fitte, general manager/emulsion...
