Dow Eyes Tie-Up With Indian Firm

Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd. (GACL; Vadodara, India) and Dow Europe (Horgen, Switzerland), a Dow Chemical subsidiary, have agreed to evaluate a possible long-term relationship in chlorinated organics. GACL, owned by the state government of Gujarat, India, says that both companies are working out the details of the joint project. Dow and GACL would form a 50-50 joint venture to build a plant in Gujarat to manufacture chlorine-based products, recent Indian press reports say.
