Chemicals Production Rise for PetroChina and Sinopec in First Quarter

PetroChina and Sinopec each have recorded a rise in their production volumes for chemical products in the first quarter, compared with the year-ago period. First-quarter financial results for the chemicals businesses were not disclosed. Sinopec says that, during the first quarter, demand for chemical products increased steadily in China. Sinopec’s ethylene production in the first quarter increased 36%, to 2.03 million m.t. compared to the corresponding period of the previous year; the production of synthetic resins increased 21%, to 2.92 million m.t; and...
