Celanese Plans China Comonomer JV

Celanese says it has agreed to form a joint venture in China to produce vinyl ester of neodecanoic acid. Celanese has agreed to form a 50-50 jv with Hebei Shield Technology Co., a subsidiary of Tianjin Shield Fine Chemical Co. (Tianjin, China), to build a plant at Bazhou, China. The plant will begin production in the New District Industrial Zone at Bazhou in late 2007 or early 2008, and have an initial capacity of 5,000 m.t./year. The investment figure was not disclosed. Vinyl ester of neodecanoic acid is used as a comonomer, together with vinyl acetate monomer...
