Cefic: Reach Hits Stumbling Block

The chemical industry and Cefic fully support the EU's Registration, Evaluation, and Authorization of Chemicals (Reach) program but its implementation is proving to be more complex than expected for all registrants, says Alain Perroy, outgoing Cefic director general. The problems surround the European Chemical Agency's (ECHA; Helsinki) data-sharing groups, dubbed Substance Information Exchange Forums (SIEF).
