Cabot to Stop Production at Italian Masterbatches Plant

 Cabot Corp says it intends  cease manufacturing at its masterbatches plant at Grigno, Italy, effective February 28, 2011 because market demand does not justify the cost to run the plant. The company did not immediately disclose how many jobs will be impacted by the move, and any costs related to the shutdown.   "An in-depth assessment of customer requirements and the competive landscape relative to Grigno's cost structure, technology capability and scalability, among other factors, led to the decision," Cabot...
