U.S. ethylene contracts started to settle last week in a two-month deal that included a rollover for February, and a 1.5-cts/lb increase for March contracts, to 41 cts/lb del, market players say. The increase was significantly below producers’ aspirations, due largely to unspectacular demand and softening spot prices, sources say. Spot ethylene numbers slipped around 0.25 cts/lb last week, to 33.5 cts/lb del. Propylene contracts rolled over in March, as the market stabilized.
