Brazil's antitrust authority approves Braskem-Styrolution ABS venture

Brazil's antitrust authority CADE (Brasilia) has approved without restrictions a joint venture between Braskem and Styrolution (Frankfurt) to build an acrylonitrile butadiene stryrene (ABS) plant in Brazil, according to Diário Oficial da União. Styrolution is a jv between BASF and Ineos. The companies announced the jv in October last year, as reported by CW. The proposed plant, with capacity for 100,000 m.t./year, would supply ABS and styrene acrylonitrile copolymers to customers in Brazil and elsewhere in South America. Styrolution will hold 70% in...
