Braskem to expand LLDPE capacity at Camaçari

Braskem is investing approximately $50 million reais ($22.9 million) to expand its production capacity for linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) by 120,000 m.t./year at the Camaçari, Brazil petrochemical complex. About 100,000 m.t. of the total will be product in the company's metallocene-based polyethylene (PE) range, mainly for tough, heavy duty packaging, branded under the Flexus name, the company announced. The rest involves conversion of one of Braskem's PE production lines to make a resin based on the latest technology in plastic films...
