People & Business :: Companies BASF to Downsize Former Ciba Site Under Paper Chemical Restructuring9:11 AM MST | November 11, 2010 | Ian Young BASF says it will stop production of paper chemicals at Grenzach, Germany under a major restructuring of the company's paper chemicals division. BASF will cease production of optical brighteners for paper in Europe, closing production at Grenzach. It will also relocate production of paper dyes from Grenzach to Ankleshwar, India. BASF, meanwhile, will reduce the range of paper dye products it supplies. The Grenzach site was owned by the former Ciba Specialty Chemicals, which BASF acquired in 2009.
