BASF sells epoxy curative business to US firm

Gabriel Performance Products (Ashtabula, OH) has reached a deal to acquire BASF’s merchant-based epoxy curative business. The acquisition of BASF’s Capcure business strengthens Gabriel’s position in the epoxy curing market. There will be a transition period of 60 days, until 15 February 2013, to ensure supply reliability for customers during the transfer, the companies say. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. Capcure mercaptan-based curatives are used in epoxy curing applications that require rapid room temperature cure...
