BASF Pursues Portfolio Changes; Reinforces Industry Leadership

BASF says it will continue to optimize its portfolio with measures intended to bring the company closer to the customer. Recent acquisitions and divestments have transformed BASF from a commodity-driven company to a solution provider, it adds. In an annual results press briefing held recently in Ludwigshafen, chairman Jürgen Hambrecht said he hoped that the company would complete the divestment of its commodity styrenics business in the first half of this year.
