People & Business :: Companies Asahi Glass, Adeka, and Kaneka finalize deal to exit chlor-alkali and VCM jvs with Shin-Etsu and Mitsubishi11:08 AM MST | November 12, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh Asahi Glass (Tokyo), Adeka (Tokyo), and Kaneka (Osaka) say they have today formalized a previously announced agreement to exit their two joint ventures that produce chlorine and caustic soda, and vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) with Shin-Etsu Chemical and Mitsubishi Chemical. The jv’s, Kashima Chlorine & Alkali (Kamisu, Japan) and Kashima Vinyl Chloride Monomer (Kamisu), will now operate as subsidiaries of Shin-Etsu.
