Arkema to convene workers' council to discuss closing plasticizer unit in France

Arkema will convene a central workers' council on 19 September to discuss closing production facilities at a site at Chauny, France, in March 2014, the company confirmed today. The site's products include plasticizers and related products. Three production lines would be affected, the company says. "Production at the site has been [loss-making] for some years now, as the industries supplied by these products has been declining," the company says. The site produces phthalic anhydride and has an annual capacity of 90,000 m.t./year, according to IHS...
