Argentina threatens to extend mandatory conciliation of suspended potash project workers

The Argentinean government could extend for a further 30 days the mandatory conciliation issued to/against mining giant Vale (Rio de Janeiro), related to the company's shelving of the Rio Colorado potash project in Mendoza, Argentina, according to a statement issued by the Argentinean presidency on 10 April. The existing mandatory conciliation is valid until 22 April. "If no solution is reached, the Ministry [of Labor] has been mandated by the presidency to launch a crisis-prevention mechanism to lengthen the workers' protection a further 30 days," says...
