Ardmore Shipping orders two chemical tankers

Ardmore Shipping (Cork, Ireland) has signed contracts for the construction of two 37,000-deadweight m.t. chemical tankers, the company announced today. The vessels were ordered from Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (Ulsan, South Korea) for approximately $32.7 million each with options for further equipment upgrades. Ardmore has also negotiated fixed-price options for additional vessels. The company expects to take delivery of the contracted vessels in the fourth quarter of 2014 or  first quarter of 2015.
